Kiersten White, author of Paranormalcy, Supernaturally, and Endlessly Everything that seems so important to me now would be void. It would be like those long summer days when you don’t have school and you don’t know what to do with yourself but century long periods of that. Thinking about a truly immortal creature, one whose immortality isn’t even threatened by anything, is such a hard concept to swallow. They didn’t have the same sense of urgency. That was why they always spoke in riddles and gave vague responses. Faeries start making plans centuries in advance. They start making preparations for things days, months, maybe even years in advance. Humans are mortal, so they only see the future until their death. The faeries were a prominent feature of the book and one faerie, Reth, mentioned several times that faeries don’t think on the same time span as humans. Several times in the book characters made references to how depressing it would be to be an immortal in our world. I just finished the book Paranormalcy by Kiersten White, which featured paranormal creatures of all kinds.
